Do San Tae Kwon Do
The first Dosan Tae Kwon Do was founded back in Korea at the early 1960s; a follower of the teachings of Dosan Ahn Chang Ho. Ahn Chang Ho was a turn of the century philosopher and independence movement leader in Japanese ruled Korea.

Master Shinn saw in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do the perfect medium to propagate the Dosan philosophy, which stresses self-reliance. The individual acquires self-reliance via the improvement of character. The strong, independent individual then is free to help others attain the same independence.

During his last year during his grade school in Korea, Master Julius Shinn moved to the U.S., and continued his Tae Kwon Do practice among his academic studies. Today, Dosan is one of the more traditional and long standing Tae Kwon Do schools in Southern California and the country.

Master Julius Shinn, the Master who taught the students back in 1992 when Dosan Taekwondo first opened La Canada Flintridge continues to guide us, under his direction Dosan has been standing in La Canada Flintridge for over a decade.

Master Julius Shinn is also a member of the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Union, which is the main governing body in United States under World Tae Kwon Do Federation, and also the member of U.S. Olympic committee.

Philosophy of Master Shinn is the "realization of one-self and improvement of human beings.

Master Shinns teaching method is integrating positive teaching using the traditional values and incorporating up to date training methods. Master Shinn instills positive winner out of each and every student.
